Course objectives
Enabling students for effective project management using basic techniques and associated project management processes. Basing it on the practical IT Ten Step methodology. Giving the student basic knowledge about project management, develop his ability to initiate, plan, and run projects. Provide basic knowledge to support project management in accordance with ITIL standards and appropriate methodology.
Course outcomes
- Create an independent project plan for designing a complex information system
- Define the created project as a self-defined metric and prove its validity on a concrete example of project execution
- Detect and understand which ITIL process is responsible for what activity within the IT department
- Compare different ITIL processes
- Detect and analyze potential project risks
- Write the basic types of documents that are linked to the project cycle (e.g. a transcript log)
- Use the MS Project tool or some related project planning tool
Course content
Considering the value and methodology and organization of a job as a project. Identification of different project roles and responsibilities. Defining different aspects of the project. Design and maintenance of the relevant project plan (MS Project). Proactive identification and management of coverage, objects, risks and communication. Identification of the necessary level of required quality and quality management to that level. Identifying and collecting metrics by evaluating the quality and overall performance of the project. Execution of audits of financial and physical realization of any project. ITIL - service support and service delivery function set.
