Course objectives

  • introduce students to the social dimension of organizations such as individuals, groups, teams, their knowledge and abilities
  • Understand the importance of valuing work performance and the application of the reward system

  • Evaluate and conclude the features of organizational values
  • Assess the importance of motivation in an organization
  • Critically evaluate the links between the elements of organizational behavior and the performance of the organization
  • Valorize the role of the individual and the group in the organization

INTRODUCTION TO OB- Concept and definition of organizational behavior. Disciplines that contribute to the development of the area. Challenges and opportunities OB. Organizational Behavior in the Global Context. INDIVIDUAL IN AN ORGANIZATION- The basics of individual behavior. Attitude and job satisfaction. Personality and value. Perception and individual decision-making. Motivation. Shaping jobs that motivate. GROUPS IN ORGANIZATION- The basics of group behavior. Teamwork. Communication processes in an organization. Power and politics in an organization. Conflicts in an organization. ORGANIZATIONAL SYSTEM- The foundations of organizational structure. Organizational culture. Human resource management policies and practices. Evaluation of work performance and reward systems. ORGANIZATIONAL DYNAMICS- Organizational changes and stress management.
