Course objectives

  • Introduce students with basic theoretical assumptions and logistic concepts.
  • Linking basic logistic concepts with the organization of business logistic systems in companies.
  • In the examples, demonstrate the possibilities of applying logistics methods and techniques in companies.
  • Valorize and select an adequate type of transport means and distribution channels taking account the set terms and conditions

Course content

Introduction to the logistics of entrepreneurship. Purpose of logistics and definition of the need to introduce business logistics. Logistic systems. Characteristics of logistic concept: Packaging types and logistics unit of packaging, transport system. Business logistics in the institutional aspects: organization of business logistics, logistics concept and logistic services companies. Transport economy institutions for providing logistic services. Logistics in new management concepts. Rules of interpretation of trade terms of the International Chamber of Commerce.
