Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the Internet Of Things domain or Internet stuff that makes everyday life easier and more enjoyable. A vision will be presented that every subject can become part of the Internet, consolidating existing knowledge from computer networks and electrical components. Students will be familiar with assistive technologies such as house automation, various sensor integration, voice management, and technology for the disabled.
Course outcomes
- Describe the term Internet of things.
- On an example, describe and analyze the term "smart" in the context of the IoT ecosystem.
- Name and describe the types of sensors and application areas.
- Describe the relay.
- Name and describe ways of communicating with different devices in the IoT domain.
- Describe NFC technology.
- Describe RFID technology.
- Describe the purpose of the microcontroller and provide a few examples of existing microcontrollers in the IoT domain.
- Describe the "cloud" systems in the IoT domain.
- Suggest complete IoT system together with associated devices and communication mode.
