Course objectives
- Introduce students / students with the concept and theory of experience economy
- Understand the importance of authentic experiences in the creation of a recognizable tourist products
- Create new tourist products based on authentic experiences
Course outcomes
- Describe the basic features of the economic environment that led to the development of an experience economy
- Explain the importance of innovations in the delivery of experience values of tourism destination products and individual tourism products
- Understand the importance of authentic experiences and experiences within an integral tourism product as a means of achieving competitive advantages on the tourism market

Course content
Experience economy as a new paradigm in economic theory. Gilmore and Pine's theory of experience economy and its application in tourism. Power of experience in delivering additional value to the end user. Experiences as a means of positioning products and raising competitive advantages. Importance of delivering new experiences and experiences as an integral part of tourist destination products. Innovation and creativity in adventure tourism. Importance of networking in the destination to create an authentic tourist experience. Special interest tourism in the light of the experience economy. Creative tourism - tourism of special tourist experiences. Interpretation of authentic experiences based on legacy and traditional values. Development of innovative tourist product destinations based on the delivery of authentic experiences to tourists and visitors.
