Course objectives
- Provide a conceptual framework for considering the business decision making process
- Highlight the basic problems in decision making
- Present techniques and methods in support of business decision making
Course outcomes
- Analyze risks found in financial models and build models for solving multi-stakeholder decision-making problems
- Use the basic methods of group decision making and explain the decision-making process
- Recommend a method for solving a particular decision problem and identify elements of the decision problem
- Apply methods for deciding under unreliability (uncertainty) conditions in a given example
- Apply methods for multi-criteria decision-making in solving decision-making problems in a given example
- Apply different approaches to solving decision problems depending on their characteristics and compare decision support tools on a given example
Course content
Understand the relationship between management and decision-making. Define decision making and business decision making. Understand the nature of decision-making, decision-making styles, and decision-making in a turbulent environment. Define decision, types of decisions, decision making problem and decision models and apply them in concrete examples.
