Course objectives
- Understand and evaluate the basic concepts of the process of innovation and creativity, and the techniques and models of developing a creative way of thinking
- Acquire knowledge of key components involved in measuring the innovation index at the national level, and to interpret elements of social innovation such as migration trends and population aging, social exclusion, poverty, and inequalities in access to health.
- Apply appropriate techniques for developing creativity and creative thinking, and linking the common barriers to creativity with the usual ways of eliminating them.

Course content
Investments: terminology and environment analysis. Types of societies: analysis of particularities with accompanying examples of practice. Theoretical definition of the concept of innovation: innovation, innovation process and capacity, innovation system, innovative company, innovative person, etc. Typology and initiators of innovation. Factors of personal and organizational innovativeness. The legality of innovation on the international and domestic market. Innovations: role and significance; measuring systems of national innovation capacity. Innovation in Croatia: Croatian quotient of innovation. Innovation in the world. Theoretical starting point: creativity, creativity factors, creative individual, creative thinking, creative techniques. The process of creative problem solving. Techniques of creative problem solving. Myths about innovation and creativity (Innovation vs. Creativity). Creative - innovative company. Bars of creativity and innovation. Organizational culture and climate. Management of creativity and innovation.
