On Wednesday, 2nd February 2022, in the Ministry of Agriculture of Croatia, a meeting was held where alongside the Minister of Agriculture, mr. sc. Marija Vučković, and the State Secretary Tugomir Majdak and their associates, was attended by doc.dr.sc. Dejan Tubić, the Dean of the University of Applied Sciences in Virovitica and prof.dr.sc. Dora Smolčić Jurdana, prof.dr.sc. Ivo Grgić Odžačanin and mr.sc. Dijana Katica who served as representatives of the Organizing and Programme Committee of the 5th International Rural Tourism Congress. The Minister has supported the Congress, and arrangements have been made for cooperative international, organisational, and promotional activities with the goal of successfully realizing the event.
On the same day, the president of the Committee on Agriculture of the Croatian Parliament, Marijana Petir held a meeting with the representatives of the Organizing and Programme Committee of the 5th International Rural Tourism Congress, which is going to be held in Cavtat from 27th to 30th April 2022 under the sponsorship of the Committee on Agriculture of the Croatian Parliament.
The Dean of the University of Applied Sciences in Virovitica and Vice President of the Programme Committee doc.dr.sc. Dejan Tubić warned of the importance of changing the approach towards rural tourism in the Republic of Croatia, and while giving examples of good practice in the Virovitica-Podravina county, also emphasised the importance of involving young people, as well as connecting stakeholders of different professions so that a more complete answer can be given for the needs of the rural tourism sector.
