With the entry into force of the NIS2 Directive for all EU member states in December 2022, and the obligation of member states to transpose it into national legislation, Croatia adopted the Cybersecurity Act on February 15, 2024. This marked the beginning of an 18-month period for companies subject to the Act to comply with the new regulations. The Croatian Chamber of Economy launched the HGK Cybersecurity Academy to educate and train future compliance entities on effectively countering cyber threats while successfully adapting to the legal framework. The high interest in the workshop highlights the relevance of the cybersecurity topic, and numerous participants from various economic and public sectors attended alongside representatives from the Virovitica University of Applied Sciences.
