Guest Lecture on “Interpretive Approach in Rural Tourism” Held

On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, Dubravko Fijačko, a licensed interpretation trainer and tourism expert with extensive experience, delivered a guest lecture and workshop for students of Rural Tourism Management and Destination Management.

Dubravko Fijačko is an authorized interpretive guide trainer with the European Association for Heritage Interpretation (Interpret Europe), a two-time recipient of the prestigious national award “Simply the Best” for his creative approach to tourism. He is the author of a new program specialized in the interpretation of gastronomic heritage called E.A.T. – Engage and Taste, the creator of thematic tours, a certified tourist guide, and a trainer for sustainable tourism. Additionally, he serves as the coordinator of the Eno-Gastro team at Interpret Europe and has been a long-time member of the commission for the national award Suncokret Rural Tourism.

During the lecture and workshops, new perspectives on value-based tourism approaches and innovative heritage interpretation methods were discussed, with an emphasis on creativity and authenticity.
