The collaboration between Virovitica University of Applied Sciences and the Family Center is of paramount importance because it allows for the provision of appropriate support to underrepresented and vulnerable groups. Through this agreement, the opportunity for comprehensive training of teaching, professional, and administrative staff in adapting teaching materials, conducting classes, handling exceptional situations, and assisting students with various forms of difficulties, including “invisible” disabilities such as those related to mental health, autism, and specific learning challenges like dyslexia and dysgraphia, is presented.
While the university’s infrastructure already caters to the physical mobility needs of students with disabilities, it is crucial to further educate students about these issues. Numerous activities are already underway, ensuring that the teaching process, educational materials, and methods of evaluating learning outcomes are tailored to the specific requirements of students from various vulnerable and underrepresented groups.
Virovitica University of Applied Sciences is committed to enhancing awareness and educating its staff about the needs of students from vulnerable and underrepresented groups. Through collaboration with the Family Center, these efforts will be further reinforced.
