From July 13 to 20, 2024, employees of the Virovitica University of Applied Sciences, Irena Bosnić, Marko Hajba, Ivan Heđi, and Marijana Špoljarić, participated in the ERASMUS+ mobility program in Porto, Portugal. The goal of this mobility was to enhance the understanding and application of artificial intelligence (AI) in an educational setting, with a special focus on ChatGPT as a tool that can personalize the teaching process, thus improving the learning and teaching experience.
Through practical workshops, participants were introduced to the potential uses of AI tools in teaching, as well as the challenges that arise when integrating AI tools into the educational process. The experiences gained from this ERASMUS+ mobility will contribute to the further modernization of Virovitica University of Applied Sciences’ curriculum and better prepare students for the labor market, where artificial intelligence and other new technologies will play a key role.
This mobility also brought important results in terms of professional development for the teaching staff, improving their digital skills, and enhancing their English proficiency. The exchange of experiences with European colleagues further strengthened the sense of belonging to shared European values. A significant step was made in raising the quality of education at Virovitica University of Applied Sciences, with plans to share the acquired knowledge with other faculty members through workshops organized by the Research and Development Center and the Quality Office. This will significantly contribute to the value growth of educational programs, as well as the digital transition of Virovitica University of Applied Sciences.
