Course objectives

  • Familiarise the students with the fundamental terms and legislations from the field of labour law, or in other words the basic terms, principles and institutes of labour law.

Course outcomes

  • Define the fundamental terms, principles and labour law institutes,
  • The possibility of interpreting and applying basic labour law regulations,
  • Knowing the procedure of achieving the appropriate workers’ rights and similar rights in practice,
  • Creating an employment contract,
  • The ability to differentiate between achieving rights and exercising rights,
  • Differentiating contractual non- contractual obligations in relation to the respective rights of participants in the world of work.

Course content

I. Introductory lesson- defining the fundamental terms of labour law. II. Signing an employment contract. III. Protecting the lives, health, privacy, and dignity of workers. IV. Education and training for labour. V. Working hours. VI. Rest and leave. VII. Protection of pregnant women, parents and adoptive parents. VIII. Salaries; Inventions and technical advancements; Prohibition to compete with the employer; Indemnity. IX. Terminating an employment contract.
