Course objectives
This course introduces and teaches students how to use document-based digitalization techniques. To teach him/her the principles of digital document management: check-in; check out; release of a new version of the document; distribution lists. Show ways of protecting digital material. Principles of storing larger amounts of data.
Course outcomes
- Explain the basic principles of digitalization.
- Using digital document editing tools, students should be able to digitize photos.
- Using document digitizing tools, students should be able to digitize audio and video records.
- On an example specify how to set data protection.
- Explain the basics of the DMS system.
Course content
Basic principles of digitalization. Methods and mechanisms of document digitalization depending on different types of documents. Digitizing old video and audio tracks. Photo digitalization. 3D modeling and tools. Presentation of digitized materials. Digital document management systems. Data protection. The problems of large amount of data and ways of solving them.
