Course objectives
- Introduce students with the theoretical starting point of investments and their characteristics
- Understanding the motivation of investing and recognizing different types and models of investment
- Acquire knowledge on methods of risk assessment and financial efficiency of investment projects

Course content
Introduction to investments. The reasons for investing in a enterprise. Real and financial investments. Types of investments and characteristics of investment projects. Financial efficiency of investment. Investment rankings. Interdependence of the project. Optimal investment choice. Pure present value, internal profitability rate, profitability index, return period. Relative cash flow of the project. Estimation of investment costs. Forecast of pure cash flows. Determining the project implementation lifetime. Risk and uncertainty of investment. Investment funds. Investors and investment process.
