Course objectives
The main object of the course is the acquisition of theoretical knowledge in the field of telecommunication network management. Acquiring knowledge of what is the role of network management, network management principles, and services and current technologies and architectures used to develop a network management system. It also aims at enabling the acquisition of the knowledge and skills required to work with network management tools

Fundamental concepts and principles of network management and services. A multifaceted management organization. Hierarchical model management. Paradigm manager-agent. OSI / TMN architecture, methodologies and principles. Modeling of management information. The management data base. Control protocols. SNMP protocol. Control platforms and OSS systems. Policy-based management. Languages for policy specification. The management policy base. Concept of self-sustainability. Management knowledge. Introduction to decision making techniques. Moving agents.
