Course objectives
- Getting acquainted with the basic concepts of quality management and other tourism management systems
- Detailed knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, ISO 22301, ISO 27001 and ISO 50001
- Knowledge of environmental management systems, safety and security at work, information security, energy efficiency and business continuity management
- Knowledge of integrated management systems and understanding of basic principles of certification and accreditation
Course outcomes
- Define core concepts and definitions of the management system that are most commonly integrated in practice
- Describe the role of integrated tourism management systems and link the capabilities of applying the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000, ISO 22301, ISO 26001, ISO 27001 and ISO 50001 standards to examples from the tourism sector
- On a case study example select one of the discussed management systems and design an integrated management system and ,with arguments, defend the selected option and critically evaluate the weak points of the selected system
- Design the internal audit implementation plan and program and draw up a report on the conducted internal audit on a "case study" example from the tourism sector
- Critically evaluate successful and unsuccessful management systems designed by colleagues
- On the basis of examples identify non-conformities, corrective actions, preventive actions and recommendations for improvements and to develop an integrated management system
- Based on the report of the certification house, produce a report on "follow-up" activities after the certification procedure
- Design an integrated system management system program with detailed defined activities and deadlines
Course content
Basic concepts and quality management theory. Development of standards, norms, integrated systems and quality management systems. Quality management systems - ISO 9001 standards. Quality management systems - implementation of ISO 9001 standards. Environmental management systems - ISO 14001 safety management and work safety systems - OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 specification. Food safety management systems - ISO 22000 / HACCP standard. Business continuity management system - ISO 22301. Social sensitivity management systems - ISO 27001 / SA 8000. Information security management systems - ISO 27001. Energy efficiency management systems - ISO 50001. Implementing integrated management systems. Certification, accreditation and supervision.
