Teachers from the economics subject group of five high schools (Pitomača, Slatina, Nova Gradiška, and Virovitica) had the opportunity to attend a lecture by Professor Anita Prelas Kovačević, a tenured professor of a professional study program. The lecture took place at their Inter-County Professional Council. The topic of the lecture was “A Holistic Approach to Business and Leadership.”
The holistic business approach is a relatively new concept that is gaining increasing acceptance in the business world. It addresses important questions such as: What energizes us and what brings us peace? How can we strengthen ourselves? How can we achieve a healthy balance between our personal and professional lives? It is the responsibility of each individual to identify areas in their life where they are dissatisfied, understand the reasons behind it, and explore ways to make improvements. When individuals are content with their lives, it has a positive impact on those around them, including their family, colleagues, and the overall environment.
Following the first lecture, Mr. Hrvoje Svoboda, the branch manager of Grawe Insurance in Virovitica, delivered a presentation on “Financial Literacy and Insurance.” He reminded the attendees about the distinction between life and non-life insurance and highlighted the benefits and risks associated with saving through insurance as an investment.
After the theoretical sessions, the group visited the Pannonian Wood Competence Center (PWCC), where they were warmly welcomed by the center’s director, Mr. Denis Validžić. He provided them with an overview of the center’s services and activities. The PWCC serves as a vital link between scientists, the local community, and the industry, with the goal of fostering the development of innovative products. During the visit, they were joined by a young 3D designer and employee of PWCC, who presented the advanced 3D technologies available, including 3D scanning and engraving.
